Random things in which I have an interest.

Again, thanks for having an interest in the things that interest me. Unfortunately the saying "All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy" probably hold true in my case more often than I'd like, I do try and get out as often as possible.

Rugby

Currently I'm involved with the Michigan Men's Rugby Football Club. Not unlike the mafia, Rugby is something that keeps dragging you back for another round. If you're unfamiliar with the sport - American football was derived from it. Similarities include tackling, kicking, extra points, and a ton of others. However there are no set plays, the game is continuous, there is no passing forward, and there aren't any pads. The network of people involved are great. The game is really stupid, perhaps the best sport around. For more info head to USA Rugby.

Cycling

I'll argue to this day that the best job I've ever had was as a bike messenger in the Chicago Loop. I liked cycling before, I feel like I lived it after. It's tough to find many other venues that, with a small investment, become a workout, meaningful method of clean transportation, and a culture. I'm lucky. My current city of residence, Ann Arbor, provides a good number of nearby really good trails, and great for the Midwest. However, don't let this deter you, as mentioned, I've enjoyed city riding as much as anything, so there are endless possibilities if you're interested.

Protesting

If you've been to other sections of this site, this may make more sense. Essentially I've found a fun form of entertainment is protesting and demonstrating for things that generally make no sense. Further information on this site can be found here. And soon you can participate for sport with NAPFS.com.

Learning

Yeah this is sort of a nerdy interest, but it's tough to get bored if you have it as a passion. There is an insane amount of information I want to have. Current areas of interest include programming and technology, outer space, insects, parasites, and economic game theory. I am constantly amazed with how lucky we all are to be living in a time where information on these and any other thing is so readily available. I can't wait to see what comes next.

Making

Making, creating, whatever you want to call it. I find a deep sense of satisfaction in the fact that as human beings, we are able to eventually solve any problem that is presented. Thanks to the internet, I've found a huge group of people who feel the same. Here's a fun place to start: Make Magazine
