Music
Despite a dislike for childhood piano lessons, they've instilled both an appreciation of musical composition and the instruments that are needed to create it.
- Mixing - Thanks in part to my diverse high school experience, I've found a love for mixing various sounds and music styles to create new music. In my most recent project, I'm trying to use only sounds of nature to create original compositions. I'll post an example once I'm happy with it.
Turntablisim - Mixing without scratching isn't nearly as fun. However I had neither the skill nor the money to provide my own equipment. Alternative creative design to the rescue. Via a bit of research online, I was able to find a great open source program essentially allowing me to "scratch" MP3's. As you can see I took it a step further. An old turntable, mouse and a few components gave me the ability to scratch like the pros. Or at least act like it. 
The Electric Cigar Box Guitar - Love of Blues music led me this project. Though neighbors may disagree, it has been a lot of fun to try and learn how to play. The opportunity to give a couple of these to an "at risk" early childhood classroom really served as an even more meaningful bonus.
Mechanics
The most tangible of my design work, it consists of creating things from scratch, blending multiple objects for a new purpose, and improving or changing the use of current objects.
- Robotics One of my greatest learning experiences. Included directing a team to build and program a robot used in competition.
- Go-kart Build Details included designing and building an electric Go-Kart from scratch to be used in parades and other advertising venues. Included metal work (steel frame), electric work (engine, headlights, cell phone charger, etc.), engineering (transmission), fiberglass work (body creation), and woodwork (trim & body)
